Stories Told and Untold: Responding to History, Paving the Future

An interactive workshop with Kelsey Robinson, multidisciplinary artist

Thurs. Sept. 23, 4:00-5:30 pm; Rose Terrace lawn

Friday, Sept. 24, 2:00-3:00 pm; meet on the Spencer Center patio outside Wenger Hall

Kelsey Robinson is a “Theatremaker, Singer/Songwriter, Adventurer” from Pittsburgh, PA who has crafted a unique approach to create the world she wants to see, blending her art with her passion for social justice and social change. Traveling solo through the U.S. by bike (with her cat and dog), Kelsey collects stories of Indigenous and African-American communities, responding to them through her art. Her process is based on the belief that healing is possible as we know and process the past, giving voice to untold stories, allowing movement toward a more positive future.

On Thurs. Sept. 23 Kelsey will share stories of her adventures, and will invite MBU students to experience her process, opening opportunities for individual and collective storytelling, art and creativity.

On Friday, Sept. 24 she will lead a reflective walk, modeling practices of reflection and inviting students to process stories and history, both their own and those shared.
